Title: What hinges?
Post by: MistyEyedWanderer on August 31, 2022, 07:45:23 PM
I know how to stick wood together, but I don't know everything.
For instance, what kind of hinges does this builder use in his video?

I could really use some of these for something I want to work on, especially a stronger variant that mounts the same way.

I only know them as 'pasting board hinges'.  They aren't designed for anything too heavy.

A ladder hinge (https://www.google.com/search?q=Ladder+hinge) may be what you're looking for.

@MistyEyedWanderer (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=5216) it may be better to explain exactly what you want the hinges for. These in the video are fairly light duty. As previously mentioned, I've only ever seen them on pasting tables.

AKA Knife hinge, AKA side mount table hinge, AKA pivot Door hinge,
all variations of the same theme.. Most of the others are more robust than the ones sold as a paste board hinge.
