I've been tagged again - what is it to be tagged?
Hi geofff,
If I mentioned your name in another thread and just wrote geofff you wouldn't know about it but if I wrote @geofff (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=9429) it'll tag you to let you know I mentioned you (should do it now). This will show up as a new message and should show what I said.
Hope makes sense and helps.
There is also a link to the post you were tagged in, and therefore the thread it came from.

You're it!
As Weave explained, it's so that your username can be put into a post/thread to help get you involved in it. This is particularly useful if a member thinks that another member would value that post/thread. What is a little annoying is when you're in the thread already and you're continuingly tagged!
You can go into your profile and change how you are notified of any Tags. This can be the little warning triangle by your username, a Private Message and/or an email. Inside the each one will be a link to take you to the post that you're tagged in.
Yes! Nothing worse than being tagged in a thread you're actually actively replying to. Well, lots of things worse, but it annoys me!
