Title: Gaugemaster - class 73
Post by: geofff on November 17, 2021, 03:14:11 PM
Purchased and found that only one of the cab blinds was working. Returned to supplier and they couldn't replace, so they refunded - easy transaction and no quibble of the return by Cheltenham Models.

The second model has yet to complete a circuit of the track without derailing and will also be returned. According to a clip on Youtube the OO version of the Dapol type 73 has derailment issues.

Does anyone have a similar derailent issue with their new class 73 or is fate telling me not to purchase another?

Have a look at it sideways on. You may notice the buffers at one end are not horizontal. If that's the case it may simply be a case of clipping the chassis into the body correctly.

Hello Graham

Just looked at your site - my Dad was born and bred in Bermondsey.

There doesn't appear to be any fault with the bodywork and the model now seems to be less stable and derails on a point and curves. Just waiting for the dealer to authorise the return.

Thanks for your reply.

Regards

Sounds like you've been unlucky mine runs very well, handles point work as it should. However we are talking about a Dapol model and sometimes they just don't work.
