I'm after some help...

I'm looking for video editing software. I've had a play with the Microsfoft video editor, and it's okay, but I want to be able to do transition effects, include a watermark, and just that bit more slick than the basic MS editor.
It needs to be PC compatible. (I know Apple excel on this, but everything we have is PC or Android)
Don't mind paying for it.
I need it for my new venture, and also I want to be able to, hopefully, enter a layout in the next virtual exhibition!
All suggestions gratefully received.

I'm quite pleased with Shotcut Portable - more than enough bell and whistles that I've barely brushed the surface of what it can do. And it's free.

It's a portable version of the standard program which installs in a single folder and can be moved from device to device by simply copying/moving the folder.
I am pleased with Shotut.

The one I have used is 'MiniTool Moviemaker'. Easy enough to get to grips with and I quite liked the finished videos - the last few videos of Averingcliffe, including the one for the Virtual Show, were done with this programme - and it is free. :)

My son and I both use VideoPad by NCH software. Seems to do what we need for occasional bits of editing, mostly live band stuff but the odd model train video too :)

I also use Videopad by NCH. It works fine and you can do quite a lot with it. This is one of the few apps I have actually paid money for. I usually go for free software but I liked this enough to part with cash. I used it to make my NGF virtual show video and it was fine although I only used the very basic features for that. It can do a lot of things but I haven't got round to using them yet.
Here are some vids I have made using videopad.
The original of this video is perfectly smooth; it only went jumpy after YouTube processed it.
I started using Corel Video Studio PRO 2020 (64-bit) in August 2020. After what I would call a steep learning curve for me personally, I used it a lot. Mostly for private and educational stuff for my nephews. No railway things I am affraid.
I posted a public video on Youtube today to give you an idea of the possible result. If you have someone in your vicinity who loves cats, they possibly will like it. Takes only about 5 minutes. Making the movie took about 4 hours and the clips where available in the right format.

Welcome to the forum Eduard. Have you a link for the video please, as having a cat seems to be a requirement for members of the forum these days. (We have three of our own, plus a family of 'strays'). Incidentally, what are your interests when it comes to n gauge?

The video is on Youtube. It is 'public'. Can be reached under 'Eduard Crombie' account. Yes I loved my compagnons, but sad to have to see them go.
I started on N (nine) gauge quite recently.
I was googling for a component used in digital communications (DMR - codec chip) and ended up on several sites about model railways. Mostly German origin. One of several sites was from and about Wolfgang Frey from Stutgart, deceased in 2012. More than 500 square meters and a miniature copy of Stutgart 'Haupt Bahnhof' and surrounds in N format. It took him almost 30 years and part of it is now being rebuilt in the vicinity of his home town. Also open to the public.
That started the bug again, after a lifetime of O, OO, HO and back to OO, off and on (busy life sometimes and no hobbies).
