Has anyone any experience of this Railway Modeller's Club?
https://new.railwaymodellers.com/
Never heard of it. Looks mildly interesting. Tempted to try it.
Looks simple to join and register with Google app, email address and a simple password. Will receive an email from Justin at scale model scenery who moderates the site.
So what use is that to a luddite using a PC running Win 7?
It's just a website. It's like the worst bits of the forum and Facebook combined into one terrible website. I spent maybe 2 minutes there, I'm not sure I'll return.
I suspect with a W7 PC all the malware you have will slow it down loads too ;D
Google sometimes finds stuff on it when I search (usually when looking up something for someone else). Sometimes useful, sometimes not so much - but then that's the same for all of the internet :D

I need an App like I need another hole in my body
From another Luddite (and proud of it :D)
You don't need an app. It's just a website. The USP is that it also has an app.
This the only forum I'm on and it'll do me, thank you.
You lot keep me busy enough as it is! ;D ;)
Had a good look at it, very simple site and decided not to join. I'm very happy on NGF. Agree with nick and george

agree, i occasionally look at RMweb, but this and the NGF facebook page are my go to every morning.
You and me both, then!
Looks like an "app" solution in search of a problem. There's an app for everything; unfortunately there's an app for 999 things out of every 1,000 that doesn't need one. Here's one of the 999.

Yeah, no obvious structure, just a chronologically ordered stream of picture-centric Instagram/Facebook style posts.
The N gauge section (last post 25 days ago) is here: https://community.railwaymodellers.com/groups/N_Gauge (but you need to sign up to see it).
It, I think, is a forum I joined many years ago, but has been rehashed..
didn't find it much use..
I'm here for N gauge,
RMWEB for EM and a few other odds and ends..
Oh and I use the N gauge Society and the EM gauge websites..
Yes like Nick I have had "new railway modellers" forum come up in Google searches quite often, and I think this is just a rehash of that. All they've done is move to some forum software with an app. A lot of apps use "Tapatalk", this seems to just be another one, so all the luddites can put your put pitchforks down!
It does seem to be a load of 'sub-forums' each with chronologically ordered, photo-centric posts, which just doesn't work for me.
I'm never quite sure, is it a new forum for railway modellers or a forum for new railway modellers? :)
I'd always assumed it was a forum for new modellers. But now you've got me wondering...!
This is the forum for new railway modellers: https://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/Forums/ (https://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/Forums/) :D
Maybe that was the one I was thinking of... either way, the one in the OP I was already registered for, so it must have existed before. :worried:

Neither, it's a forum for modellers modelling new railways. They stop being new when the first trains run, so they're not very interesting to look at, unless you like construction equipment. :D
I see,...
:hmmm:
...so what we're saying is, that it's a solution, waiting for a problem?
???
