Title: Farish Birdcage Carriages
Post by: jmitch93 on September 28, 2021, 06:20:19 PM
I just bought a set of three Birdcages in Southern Olive.

They look fantastic.

However, they derail on first radius curves...!

Are mine 'dodgy' or do they just all do that...?

Unfortunately the birdcages aren't very keen on first radius curves. I believe it's something to do with the size of the wheels and the bogies not having much room to move. If you've got the space to use second radius curves, I'd definitely recommend it. Many locomotives will derail on R1 curves - including most Dapol tender locos.

Nice one, Sam.
I am actually relived that they are not faulty...
The test track will have to keep it's first radius curves.
Test track 2 will have second radius.
