We're battened down.
Just glad I'm not under canvas in the campsite just along the road!
Severe gales are a fairly regular occurrence down here in Winter but rather rarer in July with the trees in full leaf.
Having said all that it's quiet at the moment.

Severe gales here in July, extreme heat in Canada, flooding throughout northern Europe, it's almost as if something has happened to the climate......

Well.......over reaction from the Met Office and the Beeb?

That was a damp squib.....a bit of rain and a bit of a breeze.

That's good. Far better than the alternative although I believe some did cop some unpleasant stuff.

Seems you were lucky Martin, though I note that much of the damage mentioned in this BBC article is to campsites rather than homes, and with many rescues for vessels at sea. Scary for some indeed, but seems to be no loss of life being reported. Hope it remains that way.
