Hi all.
Rescued a mouse from our cat earlier on today. Just checked, still alive.
The mose is in a hedgehog box, complete with straw, no hedgehog has been interested in box.
Mouse is safe.
My question, what can I feed it? So far given it water, in a milk bottle top and crushed a chocolate
digestive.
Advice needed.
Definitely not cheese, they don't really like it unless there's nowt better on offer.
Since it's had a traumatic day, how about a treat of some peanut butter - without a trap underneath it, of course.
The wood mice around here seem rather partial to seeds put out for the birds, especially sunflower hearts - if they can get to them, that is.

Doesn't matter if it's on a steel clip attached to a wooden base :D
I've just had to deal with Three Blind Mice, I kid you not.
Found them in the garage this morning, there were two in the garage last Sunday.
The cat is now confined to barracks, and I've cleared out all the blankets and so on in the dog run to make sure there wasn't a nest there!
He brought a rabbit home a couple of weeks ago! Had it by the scruff of the neck, like a kitten!
Anyhow, rescued the rabbit and returned it to the burrow which it went down quite happily.

Don't know, but I have heard that it's the best thing to use as bait on a trap so they must like it. I guess chunky would give it something to crunch rather than just lick.
The seeds would probably be better for it, though. Alternatively, something like dry muesli, with a decent mix of grains and dried fruits.
Long term, of course, it'd be better off outside again.

Checked box, mouse gone, signs peanut butter been eaten.
Assume mouse better and returned to nest.
Cats were confined to barracks last night.
