Good to see some parents have the decency to admit their kids were wrong..........

Also pleased to see the parents of the 3 kids who trashed the Model Railway Exhibition in Stamford have had to cough up. I either didn't know or had forgotten the final result.
I've long held the opinion the parents should be held responsible for the actions of their offspring.
In my teaching career, I was up against this all the time.
The kids only reflected their parents behaviour.
But the kids were always nicer.
I suspect the compensation didn't cover the lost revenue of the traders or the loss of entry fees and cost in time and money of remodelling the layouts.

I often agree with a lot of what you say, but hardly ever support the way you say it. "most parents" aka "the majority of parents", a group that likely includes myself, MBH and at least 51% of the other forum members who are parents. Such imprecise targetting of your argument greatly undermines it.
Not to put words in his mouth but I took Alan to mean those parents with wayward kids rather than parents as a whole.
