Jim Steinman has passed away at the age of 73. I've spent a LOT of hours listening to his work, both performed by himself, and Meatloaf. An absolute legendary writer and producer. R.I.P.
Give 'em 'Hell'.
A true talent. His music was a big part of my teenage years. RIP
An absolute legend who wrote for Meatloaf, Bonnie Tyler and others. I have Bad for Good on vinyl which came with a bonus single When rock and roll dreams come true. I have it on CD too. RIP Jim

I have that one too. It was, IIRC, intended to be Meat Loaf's second album but the Bat Out of Hell tour took its toll on his voice so Steinman recorded Bad For Good himself and wrote Dead Ringer for Meat Loaf instead.
Such a distinctive style. When I first heard Total Eclipse of the Heart I neither knew who was singing it nor who wrote it but my immediate thought was "that's Steinman".
A sad loss to the music world. I don't know if he was still writing/producing but I loved his work with Meatloaf and Bonnie Tyler. Seminal stuff.
