Title: Graham Farish (Bachmann) Collector Club Wagons
Post by: Cyffordd Llareggub on March 02, 2021, 07:11:55 PM
Can anyone tell me what was the first year the annual collector club wagon was issued? And when we can expect the 2021 wagon to be released? I just joined and received the 2020 issue wagon.

Can the collector's club not provide the answers? Mind, I was in Dapol's club for a while and probably got less news through that channel than I got outside it.

I have a 2003 James Kenworthy & Son Ltd 7 plank wagon.  I expect several people will have something earlier.  I think i usually get the yearly wagon in August/September.

Thanks, that is the earliest one I have been able to track down. Of the 18 years, 2003 to 2020 inclusive, I have managed to obtain 14. I am still looking for 2010, 2013, 2014 and 2018.

Thanks! For those that don't understand Welsh, Cyfford means 'Junction' and Llareggub is the fishing village in Dylan Thomas's "Under Milk Wood" (and can be read backwards.)

Thanks, mate. I understood the second name, but had no idea about the first.

Thanks for the education!  :beers:

I remember seeing a layout with that name at the Model Railway Club annual show in Central Hall Westminster in 1976.

There have been at least three layouts named "Llareggub". There have been two different 009 layouts, and there was also a pre-grouping Welsh Valleys (possibly Taff Vale?) layout.
1976 would probably have been the first 009 version?

I just dug out the exhibition programme.

You are right PLD, in 1976 it was OO9.

PDF of the BCC annual wagons attached. Dates are approximate in some cases! I think you are correct that the Kenworthy wagon was the first.
