Shame it's outside my era by a year or two as it's a looker IMHO

That does look smart but it wouldn't be safe with me...
Way outside era and I would quickly dismantle it for the chassis to use in another planned project >:D
Not too bad price for modern stock though.

Hi @Newportnobby (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=264)
These have been around for quite a while and do look great. However, I just can't bring myself to buy any at £35 each. Not saying they are poor value, it just seems a lot for a GUV.
I keep hoping Kernow might put them in their sale or do a multi buy offer. ;)
Kind regards
Paddy

Modern stock, Adam? 1966? Well, I s'pose it's a tad too modern for me :( ;)

Full retail for a maroon GUV is £41.95. Allowing 15% discount gives £35.65 so it's where it should be price wise. Problem is, if Kernow have to discount it to shift them it lessens the chances of further N gauge limited editions :hmmm:

Totally agree with you @Newportnobby (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=264) - it is just one of those mental block things for me. :(

I was referring to modern tooled models, rather than the prototype.
Of course, anything pre-NSE isn't even remotely "modern" to me :P

Thanks for posting this up, its my birthday next Sunday, I must have been good as there is quite a haul on its way :D
Rather niche and with a quite limited timeframe, I have a couple of the new tool GUVs and they are fabulous models but this one just does not fit my modelling era. I try these days not to buy random models I will never use no matter how nice they are.
I hope this doesn't put Kernow off but maybe we will see more from them coming via EFE Rail anyway.

Kernow don't seem to have done well with their N gauge exclusives. They brought out class 37 William Cookworthy some years ago but still have more than 10 in stock. This is a shame because it is a nice loco and represents an interesting little phase of BR. Also class 37s are very much an "in" loco at the moment so I would have expected it to do well.
As has been said above, if their exclusives don't sell well they won't do any more.
Here is mine

I note Chris's point that "Class 37 is an 'in' loco. What chance of a manufacturer, or retailer's limited edition, producing N gauge Class 37s in the all red DB Schenker and ROG/Europhoenix liveries? I fully appreciate that one can repaint a loco into any livery, but I am sure that ready to run versions of either/both of these two would be very popular.
