Title: Night mail on the Cambrian
Post by: twinklekev on January 16, 2021, 02:26:21 PM
Afternoon all,

Whilst researching for my retirement layout based on the Cambrian Lines in North Wales I came across mention of an overnight mail & parcel service from York to Aberystwyth. The references I have found all relate to BR in the 50's, 60's and 70's. I have not been able to find any reference to this service in the late 30's.

Is there anybody out there in NGF land that could help please; either by confirming that this service only ran in those time periods or by pointing me in the direct of some information relating to the late 30's.

Many thanks,

Twinklekev.

This, in itself, is quite interesting but no mention of the 1930s. Do you have knowledge the service ran in those earlier times?

Edit:- The National Railway Museum at York might be able to help
