Title: BAAs with 'Tesside Steel' markings
Post by: KevTheBusDriver on January 08, 2021, 09:30:56 PM
Can anyone point me to a photo of a BAA (BR bogie steel wagon) showing where the 'Teesside Steel' markings appeared? In 1974/5 I observed empty rakes of these returning to Lackenby and I know that somewhere on the wagons they clearly stated 'Teesside Steel' but I don't think these markings lasted long 'cos there are no photos to be found.  :'( Some 'spotters have suggested it would have been on the tarpaulins, but I don't remember the empties having tarpaulins! I've checked the Paul Bartlett mega-info site to no avail. In 1974/5 these wagons were fairly new. Maybe it was just a short-term fad?
Thanks in anticipation for any info!
