Just started trying to use one of these cutter plotters without much success.
has anybody outhere used one of these successfully?
I am trying to cut out multiple copies of various shapes - all comprise rectangles and triangles in various combinations.
Using design space but having more success using Inkscape to generate .svg files. When downloading the .svg generated by Inkscape into design space, the proportions and spacing is all distorted.

Hi there,
You will continue to have problems doing what you are trying to.
I've given up with this machine due to exactly the problems you are having.
Even when I learned how to get round these problems I was still struggling to get usable results.
Part of the problem is due to the tolerance for the machine being too variable.
So, I learned the lesson the hard way - any of the Cricut range are not the way to go.
Thanks
Phil H
there is a free Kindle guide to using the Cricut guide available for download here

May be some help.
I looked at the Cricut before deciding to buy a Silhouette Portrait. As an ex-draughtsman who used CAD in its early days I longed to find a really simple design programme, and the Sihouette Studio free software fits the bill perfectly for me. Whatever I design on it comes out just fine when cut on the Portrait, and I've made a number of wagons and locos using this package to date.
No help if you've got a Cricut but if you want to change......
