Greetings from 2021 (well it is in this corner of the planet).
I was amused earlier by this sign I found:
which pretty much sums up the past year.
Here's hoping things improve during the new one :beers:
Happy New Year Ian.
I think that I'd add to the Goodbye 2020 .....
AND GOOD RIDDANCE
a real annus horribilus, for all.

Happy New Year Ian.
Ian . Hope 2021 is a happy year stay safe from us all
Best wishes to all for 2021. We know it's going to get off to a rocky start but I hope it will be better as the year goes along.
Whilst I agree 2020 has been terrible overall for me it has had some good features. The main thing is that due to restrictions on life in general I have made better than expected progress on my new layout.

Take care, stay safe, celebrate only with immediate family or alone as the midnight hour chimes ring out, and let's hope that 2021 sees the fullest and earliest possible control of this virus across our World.
It will need the co-operation and understanding of us all, which judging by the last ten months, might prove rather difficult, at least here in the UK. But I live in hope.
Happy New Year everyone. :beers:

...and a safe and happy new year to you all, from the Badlands of Sussex. (There's idiots letting off fireworks already, and the dogs are looking worried.)
Cheers,
Chris and family
I'm sure it going to get better. In fact I've booked a trip to Iceland in March.
If that goes well, I might try Tesco in April...
The year 2020 may just be a rehearsal for 2021 heaven forbid! We may look back in a year's time on 2020 and say to ourselves, boy, things were good in 2020. I certainly hope not.
Here in Oz we have arrived in 2021.
I wish you all good health and happiness in the New Year.

Louisa will
sometimes smile at my jokes, (I use the term loosely), - she actually said, when I read the above to her, "that's good, 10 out of 10". :envy: >:D
Another best wishes from Australia, on the 1st day of the 21st year of the 21st century, if that is of any significance, which of course, it's not :beers:
Happy new year to all! Hopefully 2021 will be a better one for us all.
:beers:
Cheers, Stu
A happy new year to all our readers. The man of the year?

well, it's started ...
cretins with more sense than thought for other setting off fireworks, the bangier the better...
if I, as a grumpy old :censored: had my way, anyone who wanted to set off foreworks would have to have a licence, which would mean a notice in the local paper, and would be responsible for paying for any pet owner / parent who needed to provide sedation for pets / children who were affected by said idiots bangieness.
might actually cause a few thoughts ... nahh, lets be honest these :censored: don't give a fig for anyone else.
on early shift new years day, trying to get a night's sleep, totally :censored: by some idiots fireworks, hey, I can do what I want.
oh for the days when fireworks were set off nov 5th, not any time throughout the year with total disregard for other people / effects.
rant over, or I will be condemned to the angry thread for the next year.
Hi,
Happy new year from Italy.
Marco
all the best to everyone for a healthy 2021. lets get this vaccine out so we can get back to some kind of normality.
cheers
Graham
Happy New Year everyone.
I've, for the last 36 years, thought NYE was a non-event. When the kids were young, getting a baby sitter proved nigh on impossible, so we slipped into the routine of not celebrating. More recently, we just have few bevvies and go to bed at the usual time and get woken up by the prats with fireworks. Ho hum.
Have a good one all, and stay safe and well.
A Happy New Year to one and all :toot: :toot: :beers:
After the :poop: last year, I reckon the first half at least of 2021 is going to be somewhat strange as we'll end up maybe being half dosed and getting used to whatever being out of the EU means to the ordinary person. At least it will be more interesting than last year, methinks

It's not just pets and children who need sedation, some adults need it too. Plenty of fireworks going off around here from about 6pm I think so I had to be sedated by this:

I found that just 1 was sufficient last night :beers:
