Wouldn't it be easier for them to fit doors to the wagons?

They mislaid the giant can opener.

What?!?
I'm confused, the roof was already damaged at the start of the video, what happened there?

Engineer to conductor: "You feel that? Something definitely slowed us down as we went under that bridge. Let's roll back and get a bit more speed up, that ought to do it."  :confused1:

Ummmm. This may be a silly question, but why do they run wagons on that line over the loading gauge? Or did they re-lay the track half a metre too high?

:confused1: :confused2: ???

Cheers,

Chris

On the YouTube page people were saying it's usually the job of the route planner in an office to check the routes that will be used to make sure the clearances are adequate.
I think someone messed up when they had to re-route this train for some reason.

I found out more about this... it was probably a shunting accident rather than a mainline incident.

The tracks in the video extend out from a small marshalling yard and end in a refinery.
So what probably happened was they were building a train in the marshalling yard and shoved the train down this track as they added more cars and didn't realise they'd hit the bridge.
Maybe explains why the car is already damaged too, it'd probably been pushed back once before and then the manoeuvrer in the video pushed it back even further.

It's here if anyone is curious: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/35%C2%B005'07.5%22N+90%C2%B004'25.3%22W/@35.085409,-90.0747893,18z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m14!1m7!3m6!1s0x87d57e1eea439745:0xd193f315601ab6fe!2sMemphis,+TN,+USA!3b1!8m2!3d35.1495343!4d-90.0489801!3m5!1s0x0:0x0!7e2!8m2!3d35.0854091!4d-90.0736947  (https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/35%C2%B005'07.5%22N+90%C2%B004'25.3%22W/@35.085409,-90.0747893,18z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m14!1m7!3m6!1s0x87d57e1eea439745:0xd193f315601ab6fe!2sMemphis,+TN,+USA!3b1!8m2!3d35.1495343!4d-90.0489801!3m5!1s0x0:0x0!7e2!8m2!3d35.0854091!4d-90.0736947)
Interesting track layouts just to the north too if you fancy wasting some time snooping around the rails in Memphis.

I reckon they followed Mick's @Newportnobby (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=264) advice to cut the bottom off their Peco tunnel portals. I'm glad I didn't cut mine down now
