Title: How to apply detail pack
Post by: jwphillips on December 04, 2020, 12:09:29 PM
Hi All,
Returning to the hobby after many years. Looking for tips on how to apply detail packs to locomotives. Have a Dapol class 26 and BachFar class 37 to complete. Not sure it's realistic to apply the full pack but any tips from those who have done this successfully? Glue choice for example? Cheers

My preferred adhesive for detail parts is PVA or Copydex - easy to remove the detail if I want. I only bling one end. I find the instruction (when there are any) are less than useless - use the power of the web.

When I came to my first detailing attempt I thought "ooh plastic - need plastic glue for that". Result: mildy unsightly, permanent splodge of plastic glue around detailing part. Since then I've come to rely on tiny blobs of a locally available PVA-like adhesive which holds tiny bits well enough and any excess can easily be removed without damaging anything.
