There is no one size fits all. I use Carrs, AK, Mig, Mr.Hobby, Tamiya, DCC Concepts and more I'm sure. I have hundreds, acquired over many years (if not decades) and have developed many techniques for applying them - most techniques sourced from YouTube. Watch guys and gals like Plasmo, Laser Creation-World, Kathy Millatt, Marcin Dobrzyniecki and more.

As Railgooner says, there are many different brands, I have used the ones from Tamiya as well as others.

One thing to be wary of is overapplying them as they can be pretty potent.

An alternative, which I tend to use more often, is to use chalk pastels and scratch off the powder I need.

Another thing thing to be careful with is to avoid spilling them near pale coloured carpets  :-[

All best wishes

Oh god yes, they seem to fix to any non-model surface like glue!

"And that concludes the case for the defence."

I use Daler/Rowney soft pastels which work very well on card I have found. A set of 8 in a box is about £8ish.
