Anyone see the Bachmann winter release schedule (silly question of course you have )
Bit light on N-Gauge stuff, other than a load of sound fitted Class 31's which might be arriving before the non sound fitted that were supposed to be here this year plus they are still claiming the 8F's will be here soon.
A few scenecraft buildings including a rerun of their coaling tower that is now priced at over £100.
Also not to forget the rather pricey EFE shark brake van at £30.
Anything of interest in their list.

Only the 8F of interest to me but still waiting to hear anything of the green Warship 371-606 pre ordered long ago and nothing heard of since ???
Looks like the retailers are inviting pre orders mick. Sadly 0 for me either
EFE JIA is a new tooling as well. Plus the 66731 Tom Moore pack for the Collectors' Club.
Literally nothing for me (indeed actually a negative, as I'm not going to sell any more 3D printed JIAs now!), but I like the smaller schedule and hopefully sticking to the dates, even if it feels a bit underwhelming at the time!
I've just noticed Bachmann Europe have posted a vid of everything coming out this quarter including Farish, Scenecraft and EFE Rail on YouTube:

Class 31s galore!
Well that was somewhat underwhelming.

How can you say that Chris? Didn't you see the Raleigh CHOPPER!?
That chopper would have been great for me in G scale!
My family didn't get me a chopper but they bought me a much more sensible Dawes Kingpin which I think had 16" wheels front and back. Luckily I had a paper round which financed the most enormous cowhorn handle bars ever seen on a bicycle and a wonderful huge white and chrome saddle with a large backrest. I guess it was more Harley than Chopper and certainly not practical but I loved it. Happy days.
Going back on theme I'm still waiting in hope for a Peak. That is a big gap in the diesels that are or have been recently available.
Two things I take from that announcement.
One, when it was first announced there was only one of the Class 31's with sound and the non sound models were arriving first, now they are suddenly offering all of the different versions with sound and the sound models are now arriving first, is there more profit in sound now ?
Two, I noticed the mention that some of these models have already sold out to pre orders from a few dealers, just how small are their production runs, so that again there will be no stock left for their smaller dealers. I'd this not a case of making the production run bigger ? Surly it's not good business practice to knowingly limit your sales like this and possibly pushing your potential customers to either other makes or other gauges or even to another hobby all together.

Shark was the only thing for me this time around. Black Shark ordered from Rails so hopefully this will arrive via Santa on the Big Day!
Kind regards
Paddy
Good to see the 8F early crest arriving this month (late crest next month), especially as I've been informed by E-ON I'm getting a three figure refund (no decimal places) for overpayment :claphappy:
The EFE JIAs, though not for me, do look stunning.
Now, let's hear them announce the shrinkray has been used on the class 117.

I'll drink to that!!! :beers:
Me 3 especially given rails last email that indicated the early crest was going to be arriving after the other 8F's

Already had the sound fitted 8F on order but have now pre-ordered the RTC Class 31 with sound
When ordering my black Shark (as opposed to a great white) my finger slipped and there'll be a couple of Mermaids on the order.
 :oopssign: :D
JIA wagons look good though I think the heavily weathered ones do not look very good, they seem to be too heavily weathered compared to piccies of the real things. Also very hopeful with these coming out that they will follow on and do the earlier PBA china clay tiger wagons as well, fingers crossed!!
Best wishes
Simon
Agreed, the OO gauge ones were criticised for being too heavily weathered, and I totally agree. The real ones are brown, but the Imerys lettering is generally still highly visible, whilst the model is just black with some streaking! It's bizarre, as Mercig did the master, and everything I've seen from him is exceptional - the silver bullet springs to mind as an obvious comparator.
Eminent modeller Mike Buick helped me with my 3D print, and he painted one up to test, I think he got the colours much more accurate:

Me too but then again I'll drink to anything :beers:
Personally I'm not a fan of factory weathering. The first Dapol weathered blue Hymeks looked like they had been driven through a muddy puddle. The westerns were basically just covered with a wash of grey/black, whereas in practice, apart from the roof, they were usually clean with faded paint to varying degrees, including previous paint layers showing through in the most extreme examples. I fancy Osbornes forthcoming Western Enterprise but I'm waiting to see the actual finished item, rather than the pre production sample.
Farish are guilty of often just applying a waft of brown to everything which I dislike, very rarely does anything weather in that way. Dapol are better IMO, generally getting a high quality master from someone like Mercig for them to copy. The silver bullets I think are superb.
Bachmann can get it right - the OO gauge 450 has a faded roof and looks quite prototypical. I'm trying to think of a good N gauge model though!
The Dapol's factory weathered models go from the sublime Silver bullets, through the very good class 22s to the ridiculous - just about most of their basic wagons.
The only other one that stands out to me is the EFE Class 17.

Just had an email from Rails of Sheffield to say that some of the items from the Winter 2021 list are arriving this week, only a few of the buildings as far as N-Gauge is concerned, so no Class 31's yet sound or otherwise.
Where's the rest of the items from the Autumn 2020 I recon the boat sank 8)

What about the 8fs?
Exactly.
Ditto
Unless you are suggesting the 8F's are here already, other than the one Railway Modeller has and that don't count.
Why all the inferences to something nefarious going on? The 8Fs just aren't here yet. Due in the next couple of weeks... ???
We were just pointing out the error in their announcement that we will only announce items arriving in the next 3 months then have stuff they announced for the next quarter arrive before most of the stuff they announced for the last quarter.
Yes I know it's not the end of the world, they will get here eventually, we should all get a life, there is no conspiracy etc etc, there I said it all for you.
Bye
I've no idea what I've done to upset you, perhaps let me or the mods know, rather than the constant silly comments. I've never said any of those things, nor was I about to.
It would have been nice to have got all the autumn stuff out prior to the winter announcement - but they've specifically said the 8Fs were delayed, they got the mk2 coaches and HKAs out. They're due literally in the next couple of weeks.
The 8F and the last of the air-con Mk2 (still waiting for the BSO) are still left over from the previous method of anouncing models way in advance. The Mk2s have been drip fed since September(?).
We're still waiting for the EFE Mermaids from August's autumn anouncement, but I'd argue that there's still a couple of weeks left of autumn.

Sorry not aimed at you personally, I just get with some people on here no matter what I (And it happens to others as well) so or suggest there is always someone wants to tell everyone how wrong I am, even when its obvious that I am not wrong or not that wrong, a few on here will happily argue that day is night and when they get there keyboard warrior teeth into an unsuspecting member it can be almost impossible to have a simple conversation, sometimes it feels like I am on RMWEB by mistake.
I have blocked posts by the worst offenders and slowly adding more .
Think its best if I just step back from general posting and just stick to reading the forum
