A fine actor and, from the interviews I have seen, a nice man.

The original and for me probably the best Bond. Though of all his great body of work, my personal favourites are "The Hill" and the big screen interpretation of Rudyard Kipling's "The Man Who Would Be King". And though I didn't really understand what was going on from one minute to the next, his performance in "The Name of the Rose" is brilliant enough to have drawn me back for many repeat viewings - with no greater understanding of the plot. It's a case of I can think of bad films in which he featured, but absolutely cannot think of a single bad performance from the man.

RIP Sean Connery

The Hill, I'd forgotten that one.

agree a great loss, if you saw he was in a film, you knew it would be worth watching.

Yet more of my childhood gone.

As a boy I loved "You Only Live Twice", and "Thunderball".

Yes Goldfinger was a classic, but those two edged it for me.

I also loved Sean in "The Hunt for Red October", and when I am feeling silly, "The Rock" (opposite a mad Nick Cage).

Loads of other films which will remain in memory of one of the greats. 2020 can go away now please.

His death will leave a huge hole in many peoples' lives. Sean was always Sean, whether he was playing an Irish cop in 'The Untouchables' or a Russian submarine captain in 'The Hunt for Red October'. Not my favourite Bond but better than most. No matter the film, he always seemed to be having the most enormous fun. God bless you, Sean. :(

Another great film. Stanley Baker and Patrick McGoohan may be the billboard stars, but Sean is the man!

Yeah, basically Sean Connery has been around all of my life. A great actor who will be greatly missed by myself.

Thunderball remains one of my favourite Bond movies, because of that epic underwater battle at the end.

I love it because of the Vulcan to be honest. I got a bit irate as a lad when I saw the baddy crash it but then I saw a "behind the scenes" thingy and it was revealed ''twas only a model in somebodies swimming pool. All was forgiven  :D

Yeah, that was another cool part, when they remove the bombs and cover it with a camouflage net.

When I was a very wee lad I saw him in Darby O'Gill and the little people. I had nightmares after watching that Disney movie!

I liked it when he turned up, uncredited, at the end of Robin Hood Prince of Thieves as King Richard.

As soon as I heard "I object" my immediate thought was "Surely that's not....", but it was - such a distinctive voice.

Here in Australia the TV channels are full of Sean Connery Bond movies.

Don't have a problem with that!  :beers:

A sad moment when I read the news yesterday. One of the best actors and a real gentleman has crossed the rainbow bridge.
R.I.P Sean Connery
