And 125 years ago today, the 08:45 Granville to Paris & Montparnasse express, operated by Chemins de fer de l'Ouest, failed to stop in time at the Paris Montparnasse terminus, ploughing through the buffers, across the station concourse, through the station wall and out into the street below, resulting in one of the most famous railway photographs ever being taken.

.. in 1910 with the jury taking just 27 minutes of deliberations to find him guilty of murdering his wife Cora, the Lord Chief Justice Lord Alverstone sentenced Hawley Harvey Crippen - aka Dr. Crippen - to be "taken from this place to a place of lawful execution where he shall be hung by the neck, until he be dead, dead, dead.".

yes I knew it happened this week eg the event at staples corner. Just why I added another post later
