Title: Gaugemaster Collection GM2210303 Class 43 HST 4-car book set
Post by: jpendle on September 09, 2020, 03:25:12 PM
Hi,

Just saw this in an email from Hattons, how accurate is it? Is it just a repaint of a standard HST or are there mods to the relevant vehicles?

Thanks,

John P

Standard repaint. You can probably get pretty close; The base coaches are two TGSs, a TSO and a couple of buffets, ok you may not get the grills on the windows, and the TSO May only have painted windows, plus no pantograph, but still a good idea.

I'd have done a coach pack separately too. What about people who already have power cars?!

Thanks @njee20 (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=1147)

Are the power cars modified with the nose cameras, or whatever they are?

I would assume so, the first release was. One buffer fitted power car, and both with the cameras. I forget if all NMT power cars have them, it's a different pair this time. Shame they're not doing the more updated livery or something

Edit: same power cars 43014/062, just in their named guise.

Yeah, the power cars are 43014 with buffers and 43062 without, same as the original two car set, just with the correct names added.

Shame if they don't update the livery as the NMT lost the blue stripes in 2016!!!

You can get the up to date (well 2019 version) livery transfers from Railtec for about 18 quid, hours of fun putting them all on.

:beers:

Mick

@njee20 (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=1147) beat me too it about the power cars

It does feel like a missed opportunity. A NMT with 2 coaches isn't much more useful than one without any, as you still need to make the remaining ones. Must finish my coaches, it's been about 10 years.

Maybe we should start a support group.

I did a set with Electra vinyls, but the colour wasn't a great match, so I sold those. Then I did a set with PH Etches, but made some silly mistakes, so I sold those. Now I have another set, I think they're even painted!
