Title: Any of our American members coming to the UK?
Post by: Newportnobby on August 22, 2020, 04:15:25 PM
Is anyone from the States coming to the UK before the end of November this year.
If so, could you please drop me a PM.
:thankyousign:

Mick,

We cancelled our annaul trip to the U. K., but with family scattered from Bath to Inverness a trip is always a possibility. Keep me in mind if you don't find someone else. Due to COVID-19, the chances are slim. There will need to be a truly great need for me to visit family before I'll consider boarding a plane and I doubt that I'd consider a cruise ship under any circumstances!

Did they lift the 14 day self isolation for people traveling from the US?
We held a poll, and voted to increase it to 14 months...  ;)  :D

If you are wanting to import something without exorbitant postage I've heard good things about Shipito. No first hand experience.

The way things are going I'd be doubtful of anyone coming over before November 2021.

I am very much hoping I don't need to travel, having canceled two trips already this year. But I haven't ruled out a visit leaving November 4th just yet...

Thanks All, and stand down.
I've been contacted by someone who is coming over in September (Brit working abroad) so believe I am sorted. I'll clarify all the secrecy at a later date.

Can you not clarify all the secrecy to us now and we'll let everyone know at a later date.
Promise we won't tell the rest of the forum.
So come on you know you want to.......

@Newportnobby (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=264) I hope you realise Mick that, because of all the alleged 'spying' and 'snooping' that goes on with web content, your 'courier' is bound to get stopped on entering the country by MI6 or somebody, especially as you are being so secretive. And if he does not get stopped at the point of entry, he will be followed .............  (I am sure somebody will come and visit you though  ;)).

Mick, I was beginning to think your post was a "tongue in cheek" suggestion of a possible flood of immigrants from the U. S. between now and November. No worry, the man I voted for in 2016 will not be left standing after November 4! (We may have to call out the National Guard to escort him out of the White House, though!) We still have enough Scotch/Irish (and a smattering of English) descendents with the intellect and civility to restore order - though many will not be prepared to admit their contribution to the Trump debacle.
