Title: Obituary - Alan Peglar (OBE)
Post by: OwL on April 07, 2012, 09:08:59 PM
It is with great sadness that Alan Peglar, the man who saved Flying Scotsman, died on March 18th, aged 91 years.
He had suffered from an illness in the past few years, in his warden controlled flat in London.

Thoughts go out to his family and friends. RIP

Without people like Alan, we would be much the poorer. Some great personal sacrifices have been made by individual's in preservation and like Alan, whilst they are credited with the initial saving of loco's/vehicles, often wind up in dire straits afterwards.
They should be remembered for there efforts.

Sad to hear that. Without the likes of him we would all be looking at photo's on the net without the opportunity of seeing the real thing in action.
