I do not want to be accused of starting a political thread, or a racist one, but why all the furore about the airplane towing the banner which read 'White Lives Matter Burnley'? Would there have been the same result if the banner had read 'Black Lives Matter Burnley'? My point is ALL lives matter! However, I am not that naive to know that as long as there are humans on this earth, there will be divisions - and it will never change.
[mod]David, I agree completely, but I'm going to close this because it could degenerate into an aggravated discussion which has little to do with model railways.
If other mods disagree, it will be opened again.[/mod]
[mod]Thread unlocked. But please be advised that it is a borderline issue when it comes to forum rules.[/mod]
Thanks for that @Bealman (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=255)
Please people, don't let this thread 'get out of hand'. I was just stating my personal opinion and to avoid any unsuitable comments, how about people just click on the 'thumbs up' or 'thumbs down' icons? ???

No it wouldn't but that's because Black Lives Matter is attempting to draw attention to and force the powers-that-be and wider society to think about and address systematic racism and state violence against black people in the US and other parts of the World.
I wouldn't and nor would the Black Lives Matter movement dispute that people of other races and nationalities have also been on the receiving end of state violence and systematic racism now and in history (you reside in Ireland so need no education on that matter I'm sure) but it's interesting to take a moment and think that the banner didn't say: All Lives Matter; which frankly would still miss the point anyway.
The point is that we should all listen to what the movement is saying and make the changes needed to address the issues raised.
[mod]Sorry, gave it a go, but I'm shutting it down before it starts.
Sorry![/mod]
