Hi all,
Has anyone ever produced a TPO consist for the above era, searching is rather fruitless so far, location not specific but WCML would be the nearest to my layout.

I think maroon, although all the pictures I find are in B&W.. I remember on my OO set in the 80s I had the TPO that used to collect parcels off the hook as it passed... I'm going to guess such joys don't exist in our gauge,,?
Alan is this what your looking for ? https://www.trainshop.co.uk/coaches-ready-made-n/20339-br-mk-i-tpo-post-office-red-without-side-lights.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjwoaz3BRDnARIsAF1RfLfyW4gmd1570eld6Qdgd5lOQ9o6xDKB_u1ir0nOW2cFiRtxL5G-H9UaAtNGEALw_wcB (https://www.trainshop.co.uk/coaches-ready-made-n/20339-br-mk-i-tpo-post-office-red-without-side-lights.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjwoaz3BRDnARIsAF1RfLfyW4gmd1570eld6Qdgd5lOQ9o6xDKB_u1ir0nOW2cFiRtxL5G-H9UaAtNGEALw_wcB)
The Bachmann era 5 and 6 covers 1957 to 1971, so you could be looking at Royal Mail and blue/grey.
Both original Graham Farish and Bachmann Farish have produced Royal Mail coaches - see the excellent N Gauge Resource for more details. http://www.ngauge.org.uk/index.php (http://www.ngauge.org.uk/index.php)
Here is the blue / grey version. https://www.themodelcentre.com/374-902a-graham-farish-n-gauge-br-mk1-pos-post-office-sorting-van-br-blue-grey-royal-mail (https://www.themodelcentre.com/374-902a-graham-farish-n-gauge-br-mk1-pos-post-office-sorting-van-br-blue-grey-royal-mail)

HOW MUCH :'(
I only posted for the pic. The price was staggering, so a think maybe necessary for a cheaper one. Did think if a certain bidding site had any but wont look alan at 2336. Hope Alan k finds suitable ones
Yeah that price is steep.. TMC has it has era 7... Might be pushing it a little for me.. would prefer a style that matches my maroon mk1s but does such thing exist?..
Does anyone have a guide or examples of what RTR stock the red Farish TPO /should/ run with? Thanks
Many. Hi this may provide clues. https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/44975-tpo-and-parcel-trains/ (https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/44975-tpo-and-parcel-trains/) I have mk1 Gangwayed brake ,CCT, GUV, others may have an ex GW siphon.

What's wrong with the first one linked to?

Oh I missed that one... Great perfect...
Maybe some mk 1 s or staniers in addition to above in maroon livery would suit this
I have half a dozen Farish 374-901 TPOs with running lights and make the train up with maroon BGs, GUVs and CCTs. I also have older Farish 0787 BG in Royal Mail red and 4107 GUV in Post Office red but they carry the arrows of indecision so are a later era perhaps.
Robbies Rolling Stock do sides for sorting and stowage vans in maroon or SR Green to suit old-tooling (Poole or China) mk1s. I've just bought a selection off him this week, as it goes! They come printed on photo paper and are simple cut-out-and-stick-on coach sides.

Half a dozen?, oh my.. luckily I don't have the layout space for anything more than a 4-5 length, even so £44.00 each. Yikes... ok maybe one a month if I show restraint...

Good shout, I have some Poole Mk1's that a are a bit tatty this might be a viable option, let me know how you get on?
Link to WCML 'Postal'; it includes the formation;
https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/114619-west-coast-tpo-1960s/ (https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/114619-west-coast-tpo-1960s/)
Note, however, that at this time the formation was still mainly LMS designs.
However, there were other Postal services on the WCML, and in 'Mk1 coaching stock of British Railways' by Parkin he states that 'most of these services involved only one or two vans coupled to a scheduled passenger, parcels, or newspaper train'. Unfortunately, there is no information about the trains involved nor their formation.
So, as ever, you may need a bit of photographic research to find short(ish) train with TPOs in it.

I recall they were only about £22 each when I bought them (approx £4 more than your average MK1 at the time)

They didnt sell well in blue-grey when first introduced. I got two 374-902 for £10.50 each reduced from £22 each at the time (2011). Sorry but not selling.
I can live with the fact that the coach numbers are the same.
lucky.
I paid the full Hatton's price, but went, as so often, overboard and bought too many, at least for layout v.5.
second hand price, unboxed, I'd look for £20 each, but the new price is really too rich IMHO.
the pity is that some people will look to make even more, especially on the likes of fleabay.
