Title: Controller required...
Post by: emjaybee on June 08, 2020, 12:44:54 AM
I'm after help, again.

I need a single track, simple controller for a shunting plank for my father.

Has anyone got any suggestions other than the standard Bachmann 'set' one or a Gaugemaster? It's a bit urgent.

If any one has a spare Bachmann one with transformer/leads etc. they'd be interested in parting with let me know.

Thanks.

Having just moved from a Bachmann controller (it broke mid-session) to a Gaugemaster Combi, the latter has much better slow speed capability, particularly when starting. That should be of benefit for a shunting layout.

Thats interesting. I use a basic Bachmann on my test loop, but for my father's shunting layout, you're quite correct, better slow speed control would be good.

I find the Farish/AGW quite good, often see them on Ebay.
