Farish announcements for summer 2020 release:
https://railsofsheffield.com/groups/3063/bachmann-summer-2020-releases
Class 170s (3 versions)
Stanier 8F (4 versions)
Thompson carriages (FK, CK, TK, BTK) in teak and crimson/cream
Class 40 (4 versions)
Class 47 (4 versions)
GWR Toad brake vans (3 versions)
HKA bogie hoppers (3 versions)
Various Scenecraft items
Thompson CK, TK, BTK in either teak or crimson/cream (undecided) will be my birthday treats if they arrive in time
I already own the N Gauge Society's Thompson BG in teak so they would fill gaps in my Eastern Region carriage fleet.
Would like a mixed rake of the ex-NP and DB HKAs, but £42 each... ouch. Still amazed they tooled those, rather then just using the near-identical HHA they already had in the range.
:D oooo I fancy a large logo 47 aswell
Evening all,
Excellent news about the 8Fs! Just about the only new tooled loco (other than the NGS Hunslets). Oh and another GW Toad can always have a place in my stock box!
Cheers
Ollie
:NGaugersRule:
Ouch right enough for the HKAs. Why the price difference between the de branded NP £41.60 and the DB Schenker at £38.16 ?
Ron
I presume NP is weathered and DBS is not.
Ron
Nothing of interest for me there.
Which is just as well cos Revolution are making my wallet sweat at the moment :D
John P
Too many tempters there for me.
Nothing for me. Might mean I have to order some more revolutioN stuff instead.
Every cloud an all that :bounce:
I have now doubled my order of IWAs

47436 isn't named and had no accident damage (ie flush noses)
so plenty of renumbering/renaming opportunities unlike Farish's 372-240 47535 University of Leicester which had flush ends fitted
they'll sell like hotcakes for those wishing to customise their large logo 47s
Railfreight large logo 47018 as modelled isn't named and had no accident damage to cabs either

Are the new ones actually new then and not re-releases of these (weathered of course)?

I am seriously considering a split head code Class 40.
Kind regards

I understood CJM had a batch either specially produced by Farish, or took Farish units and repainted them.
@Graham (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=1058)
Yes mine are the CJM edition ones, just wondered if Farish still had the tools and now re-using?
Skyline2uk
The CJM ones are just a specially commissioned run of HHA hoppers (used by Freightliner), at the time they were TOPS code JMA. Technically they should have a variant of LTF-25 bogie for NP use.
After storage the JMAs were rebuilt with TF-25 bogies, recoded HKA and gradually repainted into DB livery where they were used on aggregate services. The NP ones were heavily faded and had their logos painted out. Based on the OO gauge ones Bachmann have done a good job recreating this, clearly reflected in the marginally higher price.
This wagon is a completely new tool, which seems bizarre given how similar the HHA is, and the fact there are a lot of aggregate (or other) wagons they could have done instead! Plus the fact the pristine National Power one still isn't right as the bogies are wrong.
I've an early crest 8F on pre order so that's good to see. However, I also have pre orders on for:-
371-606 - Warship in plain green
374-885A - LMS 50ft full brake
374-038A - MK1 BG choc/cream
and they're not mentioned :'(
