I'm sure many of you know how knowledgeable Nick is along with his magnificent N Brass Locos business that has surely provided many of us N gauge modellers with all sorts of parts to enhance our own models.
I genuinely believe he is one of THE nicest blokes I've ever met!! He always has time for a chat even though every show he attends hes running around grabbing you the bits and pieces you want. He knows where everything is on display and it the myriad of boxes behind the curtain.
He remains very passionate about his range and the hobby and is always encouraging about tackling some of his wonderful kits. Nick never ignores emails or hides behind technical malfunctions, even when hes on holiday he replies and let's you know hes not in the office. I've never dealt with someone so apologetic when 1 item isnt available, it almost hurts him more that he cant supply it then us not being able to buy it.
According to the Oxford Dictionary and M.B.E is
An MBE is a British honour that is awarded to a person by the King or Queen for a particular achievement. MBE is an abbreviation for 'Member of the Order of the British Empire'.
Now on those grounds I believe that Mr Tilston is worthy of such a title, his achievements in out hobby are fantastic and I'm sure theres as many who go the extra mile for their customers the same way Nick does but I feel this is a worthy campaign to reward this man for all his tireless work to make our hobby a better place.
I dont know how we go about getting this plan further so am after much needed help and support to see if in these unusual circumstances we are currently experiencing we can offer 1 man a title fitting for his hard work.
Not knowing him personally, I know @Chris Morris (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=3123) does and a few others, but I'm sure he is the kind of bloke that doesnt see himself worthy of this award and sees it as 'just doing his job' but I'd still like him to be put forward for such a thing.
