I don't want to start another Covid-19 thread but can someone please explain to me how the heck this would work, or is the poor woman totally deluded?..............

Is she in the right mind ? The teams, riders, fans should boycott . Postpone it madame
I think it'll probably ;) work like this:
Each team will be locked in their own room on a team sponsored set of Peloton spinners wearing VR headsets that give sight of all the other riders progress as they go ..... absolutely nowhere!
Would make for riveting TV.
Or not.
Some folks just haven't got to grips with the real reality , it seems. :(
Oui - je pense qu'elle a perdu le plot :laugh3: :laugh3:
Oui, moi aussi! :worried:
C'est fou!
Yeah, wouldn't work at all. Daft statement.

There are a few streamed VR races, most popularly using the "Zwift" platform, and actually they're not too bad to watch! eSports is definitely going to get bigger.

While I acknowledge that not all cyclists are totally insane.........
Yesterday, after three days being indoors we decided we really needed a walk. We proceeded along a nice empty high street until we came to some seats by the traffic lights. There we had what I can only assume was a cycle club with eleven (I counted them) cyclists stopped and they were all sitting together on the seats!
I was going to take a photo (From the other side of the road) but my wife felt it was better to get out of the way quickly.
It's the same sort of situation here. Some people are so thick, they just don't get it.
Anyway, NewportNobby doesn't want this to morph into another virus thread, but I really don't see how it cannot :worried:
eSports? :hmmm:
Sounds like something an animated chap and his canine companion from up t'north might know about. ;)
Daffy. Please don't offend hookey. Feline maybe the word

Level headed lot, the Swiss.

Methinks money is behind the thinking. Do they really think people will stay indoors and watch it on TV when the peloton goes past their front door? ::) :veryangry2:
It won't happen. The teams led the withdrawals at the start, which led to cancellations. They can say that it'll carry on, but if no team sends any riders its pretty moot.
Crazy idea! All the pelotons I've ever seen, the riders were about two inches from each other, not two meters!
The latest..................
https://uk.yahoo.com/news/tour-france-rescheduled-29-august-115439886.html
Took them way too long to get some common sense over this.
Good to see they have a plan, and hopefully it will take place as rescheduled.
But I think they'll be lucky to run it at all this year.
Following the TdF, the Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a Espana will be chillier than usual but let's hope it does, in fact, happen as we all need to see a glimmer of light at the end of this long tunnel.
According to the communicae frmo the UCI the back end of the season will be utterly crazy.
Fitting in the TdF, Giro, Vuelta, world champs, national champs and all of the Monuments between the end of August and "the end of the season".
I get that they don't want to cancel any events, but that's insanity. Even fitting in 3 grand tours will be hard. The Vuelta will be in November.
