By the sound of it, there were quite a few people out here.

I did my bit I clapped and cheered as loud as I could and someone over the road was banging on a saucepan and there were car horns and cheering on the other side of the estate but just me and the saucepan banger in our road at bit disapointing really
I think I did it for all the essential workers not just the N H S staff .

BIG CLAP for the NHS but to be honest I really wish this had been for ALL key workers - Care staff and Postal workers, among others, are risking their safety and their families every day!

Best wishes
Simon

Mrs Chetcombe and I were on a video call with my daughter, who lives in London, when she and her boyfriend broke off, opened the window and started clapping and cheering. Most of their neighbors in Wandsworth were also expressing their appreciation - quite a sound.

They are trying to do similar clapping and cheering here in the US, but I am reading of signs of pushback from healthcare workers. Understandably some of our folks on the front line would prefer that the clapping public donate some of the masks, gloves, hand sanitizers and the like that they have been panic buying and hoarding...

That's a very good point. I am an NHS clinician and can say that things are changing very rapidly at present and colleagues are doing a super job, but yesterday evening whilst clapping outside my house, I thought of the others like supermarket staff who are  putting up with some crap from what I have heard. Everyone deserves a clap.
