my pet hate is plastic handrails - esp. when they get bent! newer models have metal handrails thankfully...
anyway i just wondered how you would go about manufacturing metal handrails to a custom design to replace plastic ones?
does anyone offer this service?
this relates to ho scale model trains btw.
i know you can get brackets and brass rod but i was after custom shaped / one piece metal handrails really...

Prepare artwork and have them etched in brass or better still in nickel silver I guess. There are firms who will do this.

There is a DCC Concepts Handrail Bending Jig available p/n DCG-SR4 that has lots of holes to make handrails in OO and N. An excellent piece of kit.

I bought one of those a few months back. I stumbled across it and thought it a good thing to have in the tool box.
thanks for the replies
i may email those companies linked to and see what they quote
i dont have any design or artwork but i can send them the plastic parts i want creating in metal
the railings i need are connected to the bodyside in a few places and not just at the end of each rail so bending a single wire isnt an option unfortunately
cheers
