So, I learned today that liquid poly, used for styrene builds, disintegrates Woodland Scenics foam sheets. This unpleasant discovery came about as I was sticking styrene detailing to a foam sheet base while scratch building the main platform for my Bayswater Station layout. I applied some liquid poly to the foam sheet, reached to grab the styrene strip that was to be glued to the sheet and by the time I went to apply it, found a sizable crater right where I was planning on attaching the styrene.
Good thing I have some foam putty which I can use to repair the foam sheet. And some PVA glue that I can use instead ...
A good warning.
The best way to glue anything to white polystyrene is to use pva.
I did the very same thing yesterday! To polystyrene risers for an incline. Expensive things to be melting.
I've now got some UHU expanded polystyrene glue which is just the thing.
