Anyone know where I can buy the screws which fix the loco body to the chassis. I am currently working on a Farish Class 08 but assume they are common to all.
Same places as I listed in a reply on your Black 5 thread.
Thanks again, had a look at those sites but I don't know what the size /classification is. :thankyousign:
Old Poole models?
If so they are 8BA - so just go onto eBay and search for that - they use 3 or 4 different standard lengths - a very short for plastic L-clips on diesel bogies, a small which was used for pretty much everything (loco baseplates, 08 shunter body securing, tender drawbars) and two longer flavours for loco body securing - most used the longest, but some GP tanks and 94xxs used the shorter of the two.
Unfortunately, I don't have measured lengths of each, but if you have some in locos already you should be able to measure from them.
Cheers,
Alan

If not, surely a prod and measure using a bit of wire in the holes should give a good indication, especially if they are blind holes and the screw isn't meant to clamp something at the far end.

Care needed - some of the bolts are critical length - i.e. shorter than the hole depth - in particular those on baseplates that can contact the armature if too long, or push the armature cradle out of position at far end. So if possible, measure the actual bolt.
