Title: Vulcan 'The Spirit Of Great Britain' set
Post by: dannyboy on November 28, 2019, 05:58:51 PM
The above set is now available in OO gauge. The last I heard the N gauge set was due for release at the end of December. Does any one know if this still stands?

According to the release schedule shown at Warley, this much anticipated set is one of the few long awaited items due before Christmas:

Bobs day is in March but Christmas money will be in my wheeling and dealing wallet by then .The class 37 will have to be a rule one loco but one of the Vulcans will join the other two aircraft hanging from the ceiling in my shed .

Indeed all the components of the pack were there - loco, aircraft, and replica plates, all present and correct.

ADDIT: Though they are clearly labelled 'livery samples' and they've got the colour of the dielectric panels on the fin totally wrong on both Vulcans.

Dannyboy Now Val and me are living on MY state pension because Val missed getting her pension at 60 by only one month but had to retire due to a health issue .
I have to be very carefull how I spend my family Christmas money NO IMPULSE BUYING AT ALL   I have to double think DO I really need this or that before I buy it ,I've even been selling some of my earlier impulse buys that don't get run very often to buy something I know I will definately run such as the Revolution 56xx and the NGS Hunslet shunter .
Val is very good with money and We wouldn't have our own house or car both fully paid for and  we don't owe anything  to anyone ,so she says that my  Christmas , Birthday and Father's Day money is mine UNLESS we have an unexpected bill such as something wrong with the car or house .

It is that long since I pre-ordered the set, I have forgotten where I placed the order.  Hopefully I will get an email soon.

I might just wait and see if any dealers are splitting the OO sets as they have N gauge planes NOT OO I really only want the plane in camaflauge as my wife's late employer was a pilot of a Vulcan ,it would be nice to have all the other bits and bobs including the print to go on the wall in my shed ,I might even have to cancel that plan as I say I really have to stop all the impulse buys as I don't want a divorce and end up homeless .

Having heard nothing from any supplier about my pre-order and not wanting to wait, I ordered the set from 'TMC' on the 19th and it arrived yesterday, not bad going from the wilds of North Yorkshire to the wilds of Leitrim in five days, although I did have to get the courier to drop it off at Louisas work, so I had to explain how the set was ordered a year ago, ("I'm certain I told you about it at the time"  ;)).  It is a lovely set, the locomotive, the models of the Vulcan plus all the other bits that come in the box - very pleased. The locomotive is now happily travelling round the test track and I have never heard a GF locomotive so quiet! I would go so far as to say that it is as quiet, if not quieter than my Kato locomotives. It is finished well with nice crisp edges to the colours - and it looks good.  :)
