Hi,

Just got word back from Microscale decals about getting some BAR triangle logos made.

Minimum order would be 250 sheets at $0.78 plus shipping. Works out about £125 plus shipping.

Not sure if there would be enough demand for me to shift this number of sheets. Each sheet would have 6 of each size at 4mm, 6mm, 8mm amd 10mm. Each sheet measures 3.5" x 2".

I've tried a number of mother places but no one else has got back to me yet.

I dont think there are that many BAR modellers in the U.K. though if you advertised on ebay USA they could very well sell.

Could be wrong it's suprising how many people over here do U.S. railroads.

Have you tried John Peck at Precision lables?I have just had very good and fast service from him. He will do different sheet sizes to suit your needs.

Steve at Railtec models does a very good custom service, particularly if you can supply the artwork. And he is fine with small orders.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the comments. I'll try the two companies mentioned. Don't think I can justify the cost of these.

Don't think BAR is as popular as the mainstyream US railroads that get modelled, such as UP BN, AT&SF etc.

Note to self. Next time you want to do something fancy check on availability of decals etc. Numpty. ;D

I might have missed something here but why dont you make your own?

If you have the artwork that you can scan / scale you can buy Waterslide decal paper. I think it comes in two varieties for 1) Laser & 2) Inkjet printers with either a blue or white backing.

Basically you scale your artwork, when you are happy you print it on the appropriate paper and once dry or cool you spray it with varish/sealer. Once this is dry you treat as a standard waterslide transfer. I think you can use Decal Solve & Set to soften the decal for better adhension to the surface.. Just remember to gloss varnish over the surface that the decal is goin on before you add the decal..

Havn't done it yet but will be doing it for an aeroplane modelling project I am doing...

Hi Greybeema,

I have tried my own, using both clear and white decal paper. I've spent weeks trying to get these printed out. I just can't get the sharpness and clarity to my own satisfaction.

I've been making my own decals for ages but I just can't seem to get this one right.
