Strictly no but there are so many variations of this machine its not worth worrying about. There is a yellow version that is easier to modify into Colas or Network Rail versions.
NB. As far as rivet counters, I used to keep a bag of rivets under my layout to present to moaners as a prize for spotting something unimportant. :D

Thanks for sharing this - looks like a great project!
Cheers Jon :)
Would make an interesting plesser theurer machine. Look forward to updates
Looks as close to a Plasser & Theurer tamper Colas have just had imported to the uk network as youd ever get.
Would love to be able to run an original but dont think they existed in 1960 :veryangry:
If you feel like a challenge https://www.shapeways.com/shops/bmthtrains (https://www.shapeways.com/shops/bmthtrains).
thanks
im not sure i will buy one. i am just exploring the possibility!
what year would you say this machine dates from?
cheers

The Greenmax one is widely reported to run really badly. Shame, as it looks like a decent approximation.

Present day I would suggest as the current imports look very similar
Exmouthcraig you must have seen the program on the tele last night Train Truckers as you say that model looks just like the one that Colas have bought .

Hello bluedepot,
The model is to 1:150 scale so looks fine next to UK stock.
I have the first release yellow version. The performance is not great - it tends to move off like a scalded cat - and there are very bright interior lights which tend to make the bodysides glow. Bizarrely, despite the presence of the interior LEDs, no attempt has been made to illuminate the headlights.
At some point I will get mine out of the box and see what can be done to improve it. The basic shape is pretty good, though the bogies are very plain and poorly detailed.
cheers
Ben A.
By coincidence I had mine running tonight. I had tremendous trouble with it at first - needed to go back to Japan for repair, and whilst it is better, it is nowhere near as good a runner as my other Japanese stuff. As mentioned, the detailing is a bit crude (although idea for a detailing project) and the internal lighting is too bright, but performance does get better with plenty of running in.
thanks for replies!
doesn't sound too great a model then.. which is a shame!
unless i see one going cheap on ebay i'll give it a miss for now!
maybe sonic or revolution will make a tamper or some other track machine!
tim
Either I'm mad or I like a challenge...
Despite all your warnings above I'm still sorely tempted
Oh dear
