I can find no official announcement of this, but to follow the KQA pocket wagon, C-Rail are offering 2,3, and 4 wagon sets of these 1990s build container wagons for late 2020 delivery.

Great news! My wallet absolutely didn't need that. With Ecofrets from Revolution you can have some great intermodal rakes now, very exciting.
some more to look forward to, just waiting on the KQA's to arrive.
They looked great at TINGS. I resisted as I've got some 3D printed ones, but it was close run!
i thought you would have added to the collection nick. is that you in the photo ?
Alas, no. I'd quite like Jonah Hill's budget though!
The only annoying thing is that I want to supplement my GBRF and DBC rakes, whilst FSAs I believe are principally in use with FL.
HI All
The FSA FTA wagons are a the early stages of development but we do have all the drawings and most detail shots thanks to Tom who helps in these matters.
We think the prices will be similar to the pocket wagon per deck .
Regards Arran
yes nick
FTAs are in use withGBRF and DBC rakes, whilst FSAs I believe are principally in use with FL - this i confirm - saw some yesterday on my travels !!!
HI All
I didnt know they were in use with other companies , are they still in Green ?
If so this makes the FTA wagon an even better proposition as in my mind it was hanging in the balance whether to spend the extra.
Regards Arran
Hello all,
I do not believe the FTA units are in operation with anyone except Freightliner.
They are inners - with low buffers - and are only compatible with FSA outers, which they are sandwiched between.
Cheers
Ben A.
Thanks thats clarified that. The consist was going through fast and was listeming to the worst muffled tannoy announcement i have ever heard

You mentioned that you thought they are in service with both GBRf and DBC. Did you see them in any of these trains?
It could be very useful to Arran but only if you're certain.
Cheers
Ben A.
sorry may have been confused and cannot be certain if anything but FL - i was more concerned about the platform change going on and that muffled background. may need to do more research

Ah, OK fair enough. Thanks for clarifying.
Because I am not able to spend much time near the real railway I tend to take prototype information from those who do at face value. It's really helpful when misunderstandings are corrected.

Yes my understanding is certainly that they're only FL, as said, FSA outer with FTA inners in permanent sets. They were introduced to replace the older FFA/FGA. I think triples are much rarer these days, they added extra inners to make the quad-sets (having been double or triple originally) and pairs of FSAs.
Looking forward to these!
IIRC they are owned by FL so I'm 99.9% sure that they aren't used by anyone else (or certainly not regularly).
Great news as they are one of the missing links for the last 20 years or so.
Cheers Mike
Minor tangent, but all of this has led to me poring over videos of different container flows to see various compositions. I never even realised there was an FEA-C used by GBRf, which is totally different to the FEA-B (and other 'spine' variants). Too many wagons!
Hi all,
Well I did some asking and @arran I can confirm that the FTA/FSA wagons are all owned and operated by FL, but as is the joys of the railways have been seen behind DB (EWS) locos but that has been when FL have had to hire in locos previously to cover when they had traction shortages but that some time ago!
Gareth
thanks gareth

Nice post lady delivered my first order yesterday of these wagons anyone got there's.
I assume you meant the KTA/KQA pocket wagon, rather than the FSA/FTAs? The pocket wagons do look good, I'm sure these will too.
will have to keep an eye on the post now, hopefully will arrive soon.
For the KTAs...? This is getting confusing. :worried:
that will teach me to read properly, I meant the KTA's.
Of course we cant even place an order for the FSA's yet.
cheers
Graham
The KTA/KQA has its own topic to save confusion.

Ah, more attention to detail required, apologies for the cross posting, thought I was in the other thread with the references to KTAs :confused1:
Hi all
Just to add another point on these (cos I am excited for them but only if....); I have noticed Arran has caveated the original livery (Black) will only happen if there is enough orders.
I am really after pre-privatisation stuff, so hope there are more people like me after the black sets.

HI All
I will have to talk it through with the factory what the min quantity's will be for liveries and numbers, the Black ones ran into the privatized era for a good while looking at pics i have .
