This will blow your socks off...
Cheers,

(Another random internet find by my wife. She needs to get out more.)
QuoteSo you think you are a carpenter?
That's one thing I'm definitely not guilty of.
I'm a dab hand on the bodgeridoo though.

Fantastic, many thanks for posting that, incredible
My next attempt at carpentery will involve red wood, won't show the blood stains as much :smiley-laughing:
As one who has, after years of practice, become an ace at turning perfectly good timber into matchwood and sawdust, I can only admire his workmanship and the fact he still has all his fingers
Pure genius. Just working with his hands and very simple hand tools, he never even stopped when it honked down with rain!!! :claphappy: :claphappy: :claphappy:
I reckon he could build a rebuilt WC/BOB in an afternoon for us :D
Not even any sign of plans either, so he must carry that complicated design in his head.
Amazing man.
Cheers,
Chris
I know I'm thick, but it had me guessing until the end just what the hell it was :dunce:
Being unable to cut a bit of 4 x 2 in half freehand without making a pig's ear of the angle of the cut, I'm in awe.

I liked the way he made the first cuts after tying the block of wood to a tree ;)
I wonder how many days that took.
You saw the video...
...twelve minutes.
:confused1:

You are quite right about the blood stains, but the wood is Padauk and a piece that size over in the UK would cost a fortune.

That's a new one on me.
Is Paduk a hard wood? Where's it native to?
Hold up, a penny's dropping.
Do you mean PADUK, or do you mean PADAUK?
I've heard of the latter.
Padauk is pricey. I used some for a job some years ago.
Just checked the latest prices...
2 off 6"×2"×6' boards runs to £100 +vat
as opposed to the same in softwood in Jewson, TP, etc., about £10 + vat.
It does look good oiled though.

I seem to remember the bit I used came from Burma.

I'm hoping this works because Grandpa Amu is back and this is quality :D
Truly incredible craftsmanship.
