They are a new entrant working quite closely with RevolutioN: The upcoming 56xx is another RevolutioN
/Sonic crossover.

I believe the man behind it has worked as a well respected designer of model locomotives for some years now, but can't remember who for I'm afraid!

More details on the VEA here http://www.revolutiontrains.com/category/vea/ (http://www.revolutiontrains.com/category/vea/)

Hi
Sonic UK designer is Colin Albright  of Farish and Ultimata fame, along with up and coming Chinese  designer Sam. Both will be at TINGS this weekend  Colin with a display of heritage N models from Highfield and the like. Sam is likely to be on the Revolution stand.  It is likely a 56xx sample will be on display.

Sonic have created the VEA and as expected is top notch, price of around £20 for the van shows the current cost of developments and the  56xx is from the Colin stable but with Sam working up the designs to a production model.

Looks to be a good pairing and worthy of support - Colin has a large historic collection to support along with a family !

Hello all,

For anyone interested I have added more information about Sam - the man behind Sonic Models - on the Revolution news page here: http://www.revolutiontrains.com/news/ (http://www.revolutiontrains.com/news/)

And there are videos of the 56XX running on James Street on the Revolution Facebook page.

Cheers

I think Sam's attendance at TINGS (along with that of Mr Kato,) go a long way to answering that perennial question 'Are we over the golden age of N?'. :beers:
