I have bought a few items from ebay which have not come with the original box but the seller has shipped the items in small white cardboard boxes which are about 195mm long, 40mm wide & 30mm deep - perfect size for locos, coaches or bogie wagons.
I would like to get hold of some of these boxes for my other items which don't have original boxes.
I've looked around but cannot seem to find who supplies them.
Anyone know where to get them from ?
Have you thought about contacting the seller to see where they purchased them from?
???

Yes, did that but got no reply.
I bought some plastic Kato boxes off eBay for some second hand locos.
I've read somewhere of someone using square plastic electrical conduit, cut to length with a bit of sponge foam poked in each end.
Seemingly getting the right size it will work for N and OO. Though I'm not sure If I've seen it Big enough for OO.
just a thought, but have you search on e-bay for mailing boxes ?
off hand I don't know what sizes are produced, but they may go down to that size
Not quite what you are describing perhaps but KR multicase do an excellent range of card boxes with foam interiors. I also use them for wargaming models.

I've used B & Q conduit to store the Brighton Belle in !

In our swiss eBay-alternative (Ricardo) I often see Auhagen as a manufacturer of cardboard replacement containers.

Don't be shoked by the price... it's for 10 boxes. For N-gauge you would need this https://www.auhagen-shop.de/product_info.php?info=p954_au-boxes-br---200-x-47-x-30-mm.html (https://www.auhagen-shop.de/product_info.php?info=p954_au-boxes-br---200-x-47-x-30-mm.html) (article number 99305)
