Title: Only ever get [1] Alert, although following a dozen Topics

Hi - I only ever seem to get [1] ⚠ Alert these days, although am following a dozen Topics. Is this just me - did I break something?

I have noticed that I only seem to get an alert when someone has quoted me.

Might be worth checking your Profile>Modify Profile>Notifications and see whether it's set up as you want. I think some got altered somehow in the latest server change.

For topics and boards I've requested notification on, notify me:   Instantly - but only of the first unread reply
For topics and boards I've requested notification on, notify me of:  Replies and moderation

Looks OK to me, David.
Now check Profile Info>Alerts>Alert settings
You'll see the 3rd one down is a tickbox for 'Quotes of own posts'
Also check Alerts>Topics and Boards

I can't help too much as I have minimal notifications myself i.e. just PMs

I have just about everything checked Mick.  Still, not a problem in the great scheme of things!  :)

Underneath the last post in a thread there's also the 'Notify' button. Never used it myself but presumably it alerts you if a new post is made in a given thread

Went to Profile.

Clicked on Summary, scrolled down to Alerts - tick all boxes
then Alert Settings - tick all boxes

Glad to hear it is all fixed.  I imagine the checkboxes were reset when we did some updates a few weeks back.

You aren't quite in the right bit for Alerts.  You want to click Profile, then under Profile Info on the left look for Alerts.  Then tick and save all of the Alerts that you want.

Odd, as that should have been the problem!  I'll try to figure it out, but it's certainly an issue for yourself rather than the whole forum.

Tank, Alerts aren't working for me as before, either. I don't consider it to be a problem, however, and will probably just turn them off altogether.

FWIW I got an alert (which overwrote an earlier alert I hadn't followed up on - tally remained 1) and an email about Leon's reply. Settings as above.

I know it sounds silly, but have you tried clearing the ticks and ticking the "select all" button?

Ok, have cleared all my Notify topics, asked for Alerts for anything and manually selected Notify on this topic.  Watch this space (or better, reply!)

Thanks - I got a mail about Tank's post (Selected Alerts Only) and an Alert about Cas's, now overwritten, leaving tally at 1, by a post on Wrenton, which I used to follow, but thought I'd cancelled. None of this is life-or-death, but my reading on the site has been driven by alerts, now I have to go looking for updates.

From what I can see in your profile, you are only subscribed to this board for notifications.  There is nothing else saved.
