Title: UPS shipment speed - wow
Post by: Snowwolflair on December 17, 2018, 06:59:47 PM
I'm expecting a Shapeways delivery from Holland by UPS and I thought I would check on progress.

I have to say 453km in just over an hour  -  WOW I'm impressed  do they have Santa on a zero hours contract.

Just speculating, but Eindhoven = Airport, Corbeil-Essonnes = UPS hub next to Orly Airport?

Only with a Lockheed Blackbird as the transport.

It popped up over night as a computer error and I am pleased to say it has now arrived.

225 miles as the crow flies. Hardly SR71 territory!

But yes, still quite a stretch, interesting it goes via Paris at all.

Yes but he electronic scans were at the depots before being packed and after unpacked in flight cargo boxes.

I'm sure if it was suitably urgent UPS could easily manage that. I doubt your Shapeways parcel qualified, however! I've had tracking with reverse timestamps before - stuff landing in Europe before leaving China, which can't even be explained away with time zones. No doubt plenty of systems have a degree of latency.
