I have a coule of threads, Server Upgrade included, where there is no reply button available to me.
Have I pressed something to hide it?
And.....maybe I'm going mad but what has happened to the donation button ?
All looks OK to me, stil a bit slow, probably 'cos they're still working on it. Another forum I use did a server change about the same time as this one, based in Denmark, it was all done overnight, that gallery has a load of music as well as images.
Very odd, nothing should be missing on some boards and not others. Have you tried to 'force resfresh' your browser on those pages?
Thanks Tank. Tried that and it's the same.
If I open up the Server Grade thread I get only the add bookmark, notify and print buttons. Cannot see a reply button.
It's okon nearly all threads, just a few where this is happening.
No sign of the donations button.
I'm using ipad and iphone and they are both the same.
So....I thought I'd try it on my laptop....just in case.
Exactly the same....some topics have no reply button and no way to make a donation.
Is it just me......?
It's all ok here
"Make A Donation" button showing up fine for me over on the top right of the page to the right of the crumb trail.
Crumb Trail - had to look that up!
But no button here.

Strange, I get it on all pages. Would post a piccie but of course that's still temporarily out of order. It's the topmost advert on the column of ads on the right of the gray text panels.
You're not set to some sort of Mobile theme for the web page layouts instead of the normal page theme perhaps?
Just checked mysettings and I can't see anything unusual.
I have thought of setting up a new user ID just to see if it works ok as a new user.
What do you think.
many thanks to the team for the server upgrade.
Things certainly seem to be faster here.
As the gallery is back, I've taken a screenshot of the server upgrade thread (as I see it). You'll note the absence of a reply button.

Plus, as you can see, no Donations button (not even if I scroll right a bit).
Interesting. What browser is that?
Is that at full screen width? Yours is a bit narrower than mine by the look of it
[edit]Though even narrowing mine right down to minimum doesn't lose the Reply button [/edit]
Here's what I'm getting this morning @ work:

Hi @port perran (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=230) , do you have some kind of ad-blocker active?
Have you tried using a PC and monitor instead of a handheld device?

I'm now on my laptop and it's exactly the same.
As for ad blocking - none as far as I'm aware and I'm assuming that settings on a PC wouldn't transfer to an ipad and vice versa ?
It's that right hand block (as per ntpntp's photo) that I'm not seeing. It's not a real problem for me except that I can't make a contribution towards the new server etc.
I shall investigate further but I presume no one else is experiencing this ?
Hi @Tank (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=2) ,
I am having the same thing happen as Martin :confused1:
I am on my laptop, with google chrome as my browser, and there are a few topics that I can't reply to. One is a thread on the "Bargains" section, and the other is as with Martin, the Upgrade topic, which is why I am posting here
The reason I wanted to reply on the upgrade topic is because I am having a little bit of trouble uploading photos.
I took some photos this afternoon, and have just tried uploading them, but although all the photos were taken at the same time, and put on my laptop at the same time, not all are loading onto my gallery.
Some went on fine, some came up "not valid" (as others have reported), and some show the tick that should show the upload is done, but when I go to my gallery, the photo is not there
All very strange :worried: :worried: :worried:
Anyway, I will put it down to teething troubles, and try again later, or tomorrow.
All best wishes
Kevin
:beers:
As I cannot reply to the Server Upgrade tab I'll add this here.
Having uploaded a photo earlier this afternoon, I now find that I'm getting the same problem as others in that I can't now upload new photos. They are showing as invalid type.
The Gallery issues I hope to fix with an upgrade to the software. Hopefully happening this weekend.
As for the issue with not being able to post in some boards, very odd. Will need more investigation! :hmmm:

Thanks Tank. This must all be very tiresome and time confusing for you (and the ther forum whizzos) but hopefully we'll all get there in the end.
I'd gladly make a financial contribution to the server fund but still cannot see the donations button!
Hopefully all will be back to normal in due course.
I aim to please! :)
Donations can always be sent by email to Contact@NGaugeForum.co.uk I have used all of the funds so far, and some of my own money, but am still chasing one advertiser for funds.
Thanks!

Thats fine. Could I suggest that if we are running low on funds it might be a good idea to put a message up.
I think that would soon generate some more ncome. You really shouldn't have to use your own money.
Hi again
I'm replying here,as I still can't post on the upgrade thread :confused2:
I tried what @Mito (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=3659) suggested (reducing the size of the picture) and using the link @Dorsetmike (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=2855) put up, I reduced the long side of the rogue photo to 1024 pixels.
This worked :claphappy: and the photo is in a topic praising the fab service I recieved from Scale Model Scenery.

Many thanks Mike and Mito for your help  :D

Interesting.
The new Gallery Update thread (started today) is one of those for which I cannot see a reply button.
Phoenix- Is it the same for you?
Hmmmm.....Are there any other new threads from the last couple of days where you can't see a reply button?
I have just used my iPad on the forum and I have reply buttons, so it's not a Safari problem.
Works fine for me on an IPad too.

Not that I remember but I'll check.
Dapol HIA Hoppers thread and Merry Christmas thread have both been started today and I can see all buttons on those two.
Hi Martin,
I just checked the new update thread, and I can see "add bookmark", "mark unread", and "print", but still no "reply" button".
Another topic this happens on is the E bay madness thread.
All best wishes
Kevin

Helllo Kevin

Do you mean the "Server upgrade" thread? I'm seeing the usual buttons

Ebay madness thread also ok

Very odd behaviour for some folk, perfectly fine for others?
Google Chrome (current latest version) on Windows 10
Could those experiencing these problems specify which browser, operating system (e.g. Win 7) and PC, Mac or handheld device to see if there is any common factor;
I don't have the problems, I'm using Firefox on Windows 7 pro 64 bit on a PC.
I'm using google chrome, on my lap-top computer.
All best wishes
Kevin

Chrome on my laptop plus ipad and iphone.
The problems are exactly the same on all three.
Could it be a problem with the server thinking the user is not logged on properly since the upgrade? Or local session cookie problem? I could understand how that might cause the reply button to be disabled.
Please try again now, I think I've fixed it. :)

I agree 100%. I've just made a donation and was deeply ashamed to see how long it was since the last one. :-[
Don't, whatever you do, run out of funds or start using your own money. I suspect if you asked for a few extra donations you would get a huge response. We all appreciate the time and effort that keeps this brilliant forum going and if the only way we can support it is by putting in a few extra quid, then many of us will be happy to do so.
Thanks for everything.
