But the N gauge version doesn't have the strengthened webs and bosses to stop the nameplate from cracking...

Seriously, thanks for posting. I don't think I would have noticed this otherwise!

The Nameplates sold for  £3000 as a pair in the 1960's, and they came with an engine attached.
Alan Pegler's purchase price.
