Davy Jones, Manchester-born lead singer with 60s band The Monkees, has died aged 65, his publicist has confirmed.

He died in his sleep at his home in Florida. His publicist, Deborah Robicheau, said he had a massive heart attack.

I can remember when the TV series started and I was smitten.  The Monkees were something new, manufactured or not made no difference to me I just enjoyed the music and the shows.

If he did die in his sleep, you hope he knew nothing of it.

So sorry to hear this news :(. I loved their pop music and the TV show (don't normally admit to the TV show bit)

Sad news this, their music was great for its time and the TV show was good to, just innocent fun on the telly, something we dont get a lot of these days.
