@railsquid (http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=3832) I hope you and yours haven't suffered in the typhoon. What I've seen on the news looks horrendous but luckily very little loss of life.
Thanks, all OK here, typhoon passed over western Japan, it was merely very windy hereabouts (actuallly windier than when a normal typhoon passes the Tokyo area).
It hit pretty hard where Bealette lives near Osaka. She sent me a video taken on her balcony. Pretty scary!
She is OK though, in fact quite a happy camper, because the schools were closed, so she got the day off work!
Eeek, forgot about Bealette. Hope she's not planning to fly out of Kansai Airport any time soon.
Now this is some wave! Look at the boats and lighthouse!

My daughter's apartment is so small that if a tap was dripping it would flood ;)
And now I heard on the news this evening an earthquake of scale 7.
A bit of a rough time at the moment. I hope this hasn't affected you or Bealette.
Unfortunately there are 11 dead and 600+ injured so far:

Up in Hokkaido; the shaky shaky (https://typhoon.yahoo.co.jp/weather/jp/earthquake/20180906030805.html) map shows it might just about have been noticeable in Tokyo if you'd been awake at 3am. The Bealette is even further away.
Never a dull moment in this country...
Yes, I just got a text from Bealette. She didn't feel anything.

The second photo in that article is Nishinomiya, the town where Bealette lives! But she's ok, in fact grissling about being back at work!
