Title: DAPR - newish kit manufacturer
Post by: kirky on August 23, 2018, 06:59:54 PM
I think DAPR have been mentioned in passing by some members but I couldnt find a dedicated thread to this kit manufacturer. Its a 3d printed manufacturer, so made to order in a shapeways-like way but probably cheaper. He seems to have a fair bit on his website https://www.dapr3d.com/. (https://www.dapr3d.com/.)
I ordered his crane via his ebay shop and it looks quite good. Not as crsiply finished as an injection moulded model but not bad either. Ordered Tuesday, arrived today. I emailed him too, and he responded within a couple of hours which I always think is useful to know. I really value customer support in my modelling.
I started gluing up the crane this morning but havent quite finished it yet. DAPR say that you shouldnt need to prime with acrylics if using enamels unlike Shapeways.
Just wondering what other people thought of DAPR products?

cheers
Kirky

I have the wind turbine kit.  Even got a little powered motor with it so that it moves.  Looks very good and at a nice price.

I bought one of their 'War Memorial Monument' kits. Very simple - 3 parts, which easily push together and is solid enough even without glue. Thumbs up from me.

They look impressive,  unfortunately mostly too modern or to industrial for my layout.
But if one fitted in I'd order.

Hi Kirky,

They are indeed DAPR, I offer motorised and non motorised versions of the wind turbine. Unfortunately I am out of motors at the moment but hope to have more in stock very soon.

Thanks to everyone else for your kind words.

Cheers

Ben

Hello, as soon as I saw the ad on eBay i had to have them. I am busy now until Sunday evening but will try to post a video asap. Haven't seen them listed for a long time. Also good to see DAPR getting involved with the thread.

Excellent customer service here. Sorted out a query due to my mistake at no additional cost.
