Your order could well be held up at Carlisle customs shed. Its only an outpost set in the wilds of the border country   ;)
Ive been in that order status in the past and now only order 'in stock' items

Nice lok jonclox!  It is a great day when one of 'those boxes' arrive from the postal service!  :)

On the topic of our friends the online dealers and the time between 'ordering' and 'delivery', I think we can all agree its quite a frustrating experience.   The four or five principal online retailers of European models here in the states (note....when they say "Europe" in the states relative to model rr'ing, it does not include the UK.  Always seems strange to me, but oh well.  Actually....it usually means Germany, and by that, it means Marklin!)...back on topic.....none of these retailers indicate whether or not they ever have anything in stock...quite annoying!  Even for simple items like scenery or accessories - that you may need to complete a project on your layout - you could end up waiting 4 months for wire, etc...!  I understand they can't stock everything, but at least give us the courtesy of letting us know before we order if we can expect it in the next couple of weeks, or a year later!   For this reason, I end up ordering direct from Germany or Japan....

Four months for wire?, Id be looking for another hobby, my best mate buys all his locomotives from Trainworld in the USA, an HO scale DCC loco with sound costs him $149au plus postage and it arrives in Australia within four days, he has been doing this for about twelve months or more and the longest he has ever had to wait for anything from the USA is five days, just as a matter of comparison a Hornby OO loco with DCC and sound in Oz costs well over $400au.

Hi jonclox I wish you lots of fun with your new 'croco loco'. However, if you're going to buy some more Minitrix in the future it could be well worth considering German specialist dealers regarding to savings on the one or another pound.

http://www.modellbahn-ecke.de/product_info.php?info=p8513_trix-12128-elektrolok-serie-ce-6-8-iii-krokodil-der-sbb.html&refID=7  = GBP200.

I am aware there may be advantages in buing it in Britain due to customer services, guarantee and so on so just a hint.

Best regards, Matthias

I can't buy in secret - even if I can keep quiet :-X (which I can't coz I'm usually too excited :P)... everything has to come over to the US by post and I am rarely the one to get to the mailbox first! :o

Fortunately, as long as I'm spending my own money my wife doesn't care, and as long as she can buy whatever handbags and shoes she wants with her money.  Suits me!  Problem then is the funds - this is not a cheap hobby! :'(  Or I have to wait till my birthday.
